'Project Management: Remarkable Achievements and an Outlook to the Future'

Dear ##aanhefvoornaam##,

In the meeting of November 10th NAP has invited Merijn Zuidgeest (Gasunie) and Hans Bakker (‘NAP’ Professor TU Delft) to share their experience in the exciting field of Project Management. Merijn Zuidgeest will share the process Gasunie went through when they presented and executed the Eems Energy Terminal as a short term solution for the Gas Crisis in Europe. Hans Bakker will present to us the great achievements and learnings of the NAP Leerstoel Management of Engineering Projects (MEP) and will also share his outlook into the future of Project Management. What should change to really improve the performance of projects? We are really looking forward to meet you in Houten and share experiences in the field of Project Management.

The remarkable Story of the Eems Energy Terminal Project

In the first presentation Merijn Zuidgeest will tell the remarkable story of Eems Energy Terminal. How Gasunie developed an FSRU based LNG import terminal, adding 8 bcma import capacity to the Dutch natural gas grid, from conception to first gas in less than 178 days. Merijn will address aspects like permitting, stakeholders, supply chain, team effort, risk management, and achieving performance with available resources.

Merijn Zuidgeest is a senior project manager at Gasunie responsible for development of the terminal side of Eems Energy Terminal. He brings more than 20 years of experience in project management in different industries. Merijn is passionate about safety and has a continuous drive to get the best performance out of teams.
