De afgelopen tijd hebben we bij een van die vraagstukken steeds meer discussie met de vergunning verlenende overheden.\r\nHet betrof discussie over de effecten die verbonden zijn aan incidenten met tankcontainers. Tankcontainers worden steeds vaker gebruikt als transport modaliteit door de voordelen die ze bieden bij het op- en overslaan van vloeistoffen. Handelingen aan tankcontainers met gevaarlijke stoffen kunnen leiden incidenten waarbij gevaarlijke stoffen vrijkomen en waardoor schade in de omgeving kan ontstaan. Denk daarbij aan brandschade, schade door explosies of schade door het vrijkomen van giftige stoffen. Het risico dat een dergelijk effect zich voordoet vormt de basis voor een toenemende mate van regeldruk, waarvan de aanwijzing tot het verplicht aanwezig hebben van een bedrijfsbrandweer de zwaarste is.
