Invitation NAP contact meeting November 11th: “Attracting Talent for the future of the Process Industry''

At the moment, the process industry is experiencing the impact of the lack of well-trained technical personnel on a daily basis. This phenomenon is widely recognized within the NAP Community. What can we do to make working in the process industry more attractive and turn the image of a polluting industry into the image of an energy transition engine? To elaborate on this matter NAP has invited two speakers who provide insight into the perspective of education, recruitment and the image of the business we are in.
Education perspective: What can companies do to increase the influx of technical professional education?
Marijn Meijer is director of the Center for Youth Communication Chemistry (C3). He has a background in education, curriculum development and didactic research. Discover, experience and choose is the slogan of C3. It is about being visible to young people, offering effective experiences and thereby enabling a substantiated profile or study choice.
Education is key to many things. In fact, it is the only way to reach large groups of young people on a regular basis and to enthuse them for the technical sector. What can companies do, which buttons can be turned, to guarantee a sufficiently large influx into technical professional education?
Business perspective: Creative solutions when recruiting technical personnel.
Bjarne Tellekamp works as Talent Acquisition Partner EMEA at Huntsman and has been involved in Recruitment in the (petro)chemical industry for several years. He has been responsible for the implementation of the recruitment strategy within the key location of Rotterdam for 3 years and he also supports the rest of Europe with the recruitment of mainly technical personnel.
With the current challenges in the labor market, it is crucial to be creative in the way in which staff is recruited, but it is also important to look beyond just filling an open position. In his presentation, Bjarne will tell more about how Huntsman is currently implementing its recruitment process, with a view to the future.

''Het aantrekken van talent voor de toekomst van de procesindustrie''
Geachte NAP deelnemer,
Op dit moment ervaart de procesindustrie dagelijks de impact van het gebrek aan goed geschoold technisch personeel. Binnen de NAP Community wordt dat beeld breed gedragen. Wat kunnen we eraan doen om het werken in de procesindustrie aantrekkelijker te maken en het imago van vervuilende industrie naar energietransitie-motor om te draaien? Om dit beter te begrijpen heeft NAP twee sprekers uitgenodigd die inzicht geven op het perspectief van het onderwijs, de werving en het imago van de bedrijven in de procesindustrie.
Onderwijsperspectief: Wat kunnen bedrijven doen om de instroom van technische beroepsopleidingen te vergroten?
Marijn Meijer is directeur van Centrum jongeren Communicatie Chemie (C3). Hij heeft een achtergrond in het onderwijs, curriculumontwikkeling en didactische onderzoek. Ontdek, ervaar en kies is de slogan van C3. Het draait dus om zichtbaar te zijn bij jongeren, effectieve ervaringen aan bieden en daardoor een beargumenteerde profiel of studiekeuze mogelijk maken.
Onderwijs is de sleutel voor veel zaken. Feitelijk is het de enige manier om op regelmatige basis grote groepen jongeren te bereiken en deze te enthousiasmeren voor de technische sector. Wat kunnen bedrijven doen, aan welke knoppen kan men draaien, om een voldoende grote instroom in de beroepsopleidingen te garanderen?
Bedrijfsperspectief: Creatieve oplossingen bij het werven van technisch personeel
Bjarne Tellekamp is werkzaam als Talent Acquisition Partner EMEA bij Huntsman en draait daar al enkele jaren mee in Recruitment in de (petro)chemische industrie. Sinds 3 jaar is hij verantwoordelijk voor de invulling van de wervingsstrategie binnen de key locatie Rotterdam en ondersteunt hij daarnaast de rest van Europa met het werven van hoofdzakelijk technisch personeel.
Met de huidige uitdagingen in de arbeidsmarkt is het cruciaal om creatief te zijn in de manier waarop personeel wordt geworven, maar daarnaast is het ook van belang om verder te kijken dan alleen het invullen van een open positie. In zijn presentatie zal Bjarne meer vertellen over hoe Huntsman momenteel invulling geeft aan haar wervingsproces, met het oog op de toekomst.
